The Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS) is owned by the County of Sonoma and operated by the Department of Transportation and Public Works - Airport Division. Two separate Commissions address Airport issues. One is the Aviation Commission, which reviews aviation matters related to the operation of STS, makes recommendations, and gives advice to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors.
The Aviation Commission is a seven-member body with a member representing each Supervisor's district and two at-large members. The Commission meetings are open to the public and are typically held on the third Thursday of the month. See the agendas below for exact dates, times, and locations.
Airport Land Use Commission The second commission is the Airport Land Use Commission. Their duties are to make recommendations about the compatibility of land use around airports in Sonoma County, and is under the jurisdiction of the Permits and Resource Management Department (PRMD).
